Thank you for giving me the number for HSA! We never did call them for the stove (it stopped ticking on it’s own), however I had to call them yesterday on another issue. I have heard some horror stories about Home Warranty companies finding just about any loophole to get out of covering a claim. I’m sure you don’t get much feed back from your clients unless it is a complaint, so I wanted to share this positive story with you since I know Remax uses HSA a lot.

We had to call mid American Tuesday night because we smelled gas and found out the gas meter into the house, water heater, furnace, and stove were ALL leaking gas. Mid American fixed the stove and will fix the meter, but we have to fix the water heater and furnace. I called HSA yesterday morning and the kid I talked to was very courteous and took the time to listen to all of the details. HSA of course uses their own, certified techs so I was a little leery of using the company they chose. They sent out Best heating, cooling, and electric and Jason, couldn’t have been nicer. He was very up front with us, and answered all of our questions. He fixed the leaks on the furnace, but then found it’s leaking CO2 and the part on the water heater that needs fixed is obsolete so both units need to be replaced. He called HSA this morning to report his diagnosis and recommendations and I got a call from HSA by 10am letting me know they approved both claims and will be replacing BOTH the water heater and the furnace! We are responsible for about $500 worth of incidentals for re-piping, some steel and duct work, a permit, and disposal, but that cost is minimal compared to what we would have to pay for 2 new units.

I am just utterly amazed they are covering both! and can’t thank you enough for urging us to ask for the Home Warranty. I really thought it would turn out to be kind of a joke and we’d never get anything out of it, but I guess I was wrong! At least in this case, HSA and Best have been wonderful to work with!
